Adventures in MCN land
The main thing preventing me from buying a 'stash' of modern cloth nappies is not fear of washing, but paralysis of decision making.
There are so many freaking brands out there! And everyone has a different position on AIOs versus bamboo fitted versus pre-fold hemp pockets etc.
Basically, I am lazy and want a nappy which is as similar to a disposable as possible. I have been given a few by friends and so far I think I like the Blueberry Minkee pocket diaper which is like a fluffy thing with velcro with a hole you can stuff with a booster to make it more absorbant. It dries quite fast because you can dry the booster separately.
I have a friend who might have some Itti Bitti nappies for sale so I'll try those, and I have my eye on some BabyBeehind Minkee Magicalls on eBay. Honestly, keeping up with the nappy news is a part-time occupation.
Until then I'm using Baby Beehind bamboo cloth nappies with a Motherease cover, and they are not much fun at all. They seem to soak through instantly. I don't see the advantage over old-fashioned terry towelling, except you don't have to fold them.
I will have this baby in MCNs before she is due to be toilet trained, yes siree.

Wow, so many choices now! With Noah it was cloth or disposable and that was it. I have to say it was both a sad and happy day when I no longer had a clothesline full of white terry towelling. Sad because my little boy was growing up and happy that I didn't have to wash the damn things everyday anymore!
